1. The available disk space that you require. We have many storage servers ranging from 1TB to 48TB in a single server.

2. The Hard Drive type you require. This can depend very much on the available disk space you require, for example Serial ATA (SATA) drives have capacities up to 1TB where as Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) drives have a maximum capacity of 400GB at present.

3. System Upgradeability. Not only should you take into consideration your storage server requirements now but we advise that you look at your possible future storage requirements. With most of our custom storage servers you can populate them with extra drives (up to their maximum capacity) at a later date to increase your available storage capacity. This is possible using a feature called online capacity expansion.

4. System Configuration. Our custom storage servers give you a choice of many system configurations including CPU type and speed, memory, add on controller cards etc.

5. System Connectivity. Another thing to consider is how you are going to connect your custom storage server into your existing infrastructure, we have many choices including Gigabit Ethernet, Fiber and SCSI.

6. The type of storage that you require. We offer many custom storage servers including solutions based on Windows Storage Server 2003 and OPEN-E NAS, OPEN-E iSCSI SAN, DAS (Direct Attached Storage) using SCSI or fiber interfaces through to what we class as General Storage Servers using operating systems such as Windows XP, Windows Server 2003 and other Linux based solutions.
